Soil Management

Proper soil management is the key to a sustainable landscape, not only in terms of overall longevity but in the reduction of maintenance through natural water and mineral retention.

Chemicals used to fertilize or destroy pests take a great toll on the local and global environment. Our compost naturally fertilizes as well as promoting disease and pest resistance in many plants with no harmful effects on the environment or local wildlife.

Permaculture

Simply put, permaculture is a design philosophy that revolves around the idea of living with the earth, not just on it. Our landscapes are designed to work with the natural surroundings, bringing a natural feel to our projects. Proper water and soil management, along with the use of native plants and renewable energy sources reduces the maintenance required to sustain your landscape features. This reduction in maintenance in turn lowers your reliance on chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, additional water supplies, as well as on-grid electricity.

We produce all of our own soil amendments from 100% natural materials from local sources whenever possible and with the ability to relocate existing trees, stone, soil and other materials from your own property, we not only reduce costs, but also our carbon footprint by shipping less materials to and from our jobsites. Our machinery is carefully chosen and our maintenence schedules are strictly adhered to for optimal efficiency and minimal environmental impact.
